Jillian Corder was raised in Southwest Louisiana and now works in her home market as the assistant news director at KPLC.
She joined the 7News team in July 2015 as a reporter and was promoted to the anchor chair less than a year later. Each evening you’ll find her anchoring 7News at 6.
Before Lake Charles, Jillian spent three years in Northeast Louisiana at KNOE in Monroe, where she served as an anchor, reporter, and producer.
The Northwestern State University graduate found her love for news at an early age when she was interviewed at 10 years old for being an Honorary Colonel for the State of Louisiana. Ever since, she has had a passion for being in front of and behind the camera.
Jillian’s work has been recognized by the Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana, Associated Press, and Louisiana Association of Broadcasters. In 2021 she was named LAB Young Professional of the Year for her coverage of Hurricanes Laura and Delta.
While certainly not a culinary expert, Jillian has judged countless cookoffs across the state and often cites “eating” as her favorite hobby.
